Workshop on “Latest Basel Committee Updates – Basel III and Beyond”
In line with the strategic vision of the Central Bank of Libya to develop and strengthen the banking sector, and pursuant to the directives of the Governor, the Institute of Banking and Financial Training and Studies (IBFTS) organized a workshop entitled “Latest Basel Committee Updates – Basel III and Beyond” on Sunday, 28th of July 2024, at Al-Mahari Hotel in Tripoli.
The workshop targeted senior banking professionals, including:
General Managers of banks and their deputies
Heads of Risk Management Departments and their deputies
Heads of Supervision and Inspection Departments
Heads of Internal Audit Departments and their deputies
The sessions reviewed the latest updates and guidance issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, with the participation of representatives from the Bank Supervision and Currency Department, as well as representatives of all commercial banks. The discussions highlighted key measures aimed at strengthening risk management frameworks, enhancing regulatory compliance, and improving supervisory practices across Libyan banks.
