High-Level Delegation from the Arab Planning Institute Visits the Institute of Banking and Financial Studies

The Institute of Banking and Financial Studies hosted a high-level delegation from the Arab Planning Institute (API) in the State of Kuwait. The delegation included the Institute’s Executive Director, his Deputy, and the Economic Advisor.
The visit took place over three days, in the presence of Libya’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Arab Planning Institute. It reflected the strong partnership between Libya and the API, as Libya has been a founding member of the Institute since 1976.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with key Libyan financial institutions, including a visit to the Central Bank of Libya, where they met with His Excellency the Governor. The discussions highlighted the Arab Planning Institute’s major activities and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation with Libya.
The delegation also visited the Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, where a joint cooperation agreement was officially signed. The agreement covers collaboration in several important areas, including:
- Specialized training programs
- Professional consultations
- Joint studies and research in the banking and financial sector
The visit concluded on Wednesday, 13 September 2023, with an extensive workshop attended by banking sector leaders, as well as human resources and training officials from various banks.
During the workshop, the Institute presented its strategic project aimed at linking career development pathways with structured training programs, emphasizing its role in advancing the Libyan banking sector.
In addition, the program for supporting emerging projects and entrepreneurs was discussed, drawing on the Arab Planning Institute’s recognized expertise as a leading regional center in this field.
This visit marks an important step toward strengthening regional partnerships and supporting the continued development of Libya’s banking and financial sector through knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation.
